After dinner last night, Andy and I headed to the furniture store.
| New Purchase |
That's right! We are now the proud owners of a split box spring since our stupid normal box spring wouldn't fit up the stairs of our new place. Now the two bad parts of our purchase, 1) we do not have a truck or big vehicle, 2) we did not leave the store until after 9:00pm. So....
| Andy in action |
It took about a gajillion feet of twine to feel like we had the box springs secured on the roof of my car. Of course, we didn't realize as we got it all tied up that in the process, we tied all four doors shut. Great. We had to shimmy through the windows to get in and out of the car. That was funny! By the time we got the bed frame together in the guest room, our Frankenstein box spring (the one we cut in half and tried to repair) moved over to that room, the guest mattress on top of that, and then our new split box spring up the stairs with our mattress on top.... well it took until about 11:00pm! It was so late because we could not for the life of us figure out how to put that stupid bed frame together - that took a LOT of time.
I told Andy the next time we buy a new bed, we are doing it in the middle of the day. I was just so tired and not in the mood to be dealing with all of that so late, but.... it was worth it. Our bed feels great now, and we both got a good night's sleep. The bed in the guest room is still perfectly fine to use... don't worry Mom! I just maybe wouldn't want to sleep on it forever (the Frankenstein box spring is rather noisy whenever you move).
Today is a big day for Job #1 - it is the first concert of the season... Opening Night! There is a reception after the concert (open bar and appetizers), so I'm feeling a little anxious about that, but Anna and Andy will both be there and I know their support will help get me through. Plus I'll be wearing a dress and heels... by the time the reception rolls around I have a feeling I'll want to get off my feet so I doubt I'll stay too long as it is. Tune in tomorrow for pictures from Opening Night!
